Sartoria
About This Spot
Stepping into Sartoria, nestled in the heart of Roma Norte, feels like entering a carefully crafted world where modern design meets intimate, almost secretive charm. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to settle in and savor moments as they unfold—whether you find yourself tucked away inside their softly lit, cave-like dining room or enjoying the gentle evening air in the outdoor seating. There’s a thoughtful balance between elegance and ease, where impeccable service quietly enhances the experience without ever overshadowing it.
The atmosphere hums with a quiet appreciation for detail and tradition. It’s the kind of place where fresh, creative Italian flavors unfold with a distinctive touch, gently surprising your palate. Pasta here has a textured freshness that feels both comforting and unexpected, punctuated by subtle herbs, truffles, and carefully selected cheeses that speak to a deep respect for ingredient quality. Accompanying these, wines are chosen not just to complement the meal but to invite personal rituals—whether you’re an experienced enthusiast or delight in the simple pleasure of decanting a bottle in your own way.
As evening progresses, the experience becomes more about the shared hush of discovery—a fleeting moment of connection across the table or the quiet delight in a delicate dessert melding familiar tastes with playful hints of sweetness. Sartoria feels less like a restaurant and more like an invitation to slow down, to explore a nuanced, modern interpretation of Italian fare shaped with care and passion.

This place is absolutely amazing! The texture of the pasta is indescribable, and super tasty! The ambience makes you feel you’re in a modern cave with impeccable service. We had the best experience!

Michelin star… OK. I suppose when a restaurant has a Michelin star you have higher expectations often of which those expectations are never met. That probably doesn’t make sense gramatically, but you get the drift. And, don’t tell me that I can’t decant my wine! I will decant a two buck chuck if I want Moving onto the experience. I dined outside on a pleasant evening. The weird and uncomfortable thing about the location of some of the outside tables are they sit directly near the window, which is common, but what isn’t common is, there is a raised dining bar, which looks directly down upon those tables. A couple initially sat there, but they also realized the awkwardness of it and then moved. No one sat there during my dinner. There are maybe up to 20 seats outside, and 20-30 inside. A guess. The interior space is modern , clean with a barrel ceiling. Very nice. Service was OK, but what’s the deal about hoarding the decanters or do they only have one or two decanters. I ended prying one away from them, but it took a little effort. Now for the food. It was very good not great. Flavorful, nice preparation. I don’t know about one Michelin star good but who am I to judge. Food ordered: lasagne -339. Why 339? mallaoreddis de sémola al ragú- 347, heirloom salad - 315, croqueta de prosciutto-86 each, asparagus- 197 tiramisu- 185 (very good) and went for the cheap Nebbiolo - 1330. So an expensive evening. Was it worth it? Depends who you are with, and if no one is looking down at you while dining and if the one decanter is not on use. I would go back and dine again but may bring my own decanter. Decent pics below, and that’s all for now

I've been to Sartoria twice now. On my first visit I had the prosciutto croquettes and the shrimp and burrata tortellini. Both were tasty, but lacking in the promised prosciutto and shrimp. I honestly couldn't tell that either of those proteins were present. The pasta in the tortellini dish was very fresh tasting and had a nice mild spiciness. On my second visit, I had the lasagna. It wasn't a traditional lasagna, but it was very tasty and reasonably priced. I was served focaccia for the bread course both times and I thought it was just average. It would have been nice if the focaccia was served warm. I thought the service was quite good during both visits. The ambiance is nothing special. All in all, a decent place for dinner, but my experience with the food on my first visit was underwhelming.

We had NYE dinner here with a fixed menu and it was amazing! Everything was fresh and prepared with care. Especially loved the sliced scallops with avocado and the cream puff for dessert with hazelnut cream and dark chocolate, topped with gold foil. The service was also wonderful. The staff were quite accommodating and seated us almost immediately even though we arrived early.
